World Cup Marketing Campaign Shortlisted For ERT Marketing Award

World Cup Marketing Campaign Shortlisted For ERT Marketing Award

We’re delighted that the marketing campaign we produced for Norwich electrical retailer Gerald Giles, for last year’s FIFA World Cup has been shortlisted for the Independent Marketing Campaign of the Year in the Electrical Retail Trade (ERT) Awards, announced in October 2015.

Paul Giles, MD of Gerald Giles says: “One of our most successful marketing campaigns run in the last 12 month was our “Big screen Trade up” promotion, encouraging consumers to trade up their old TV for a bigger size, in exchange for a trade in of up to £200 depending on the model purchased. We promoted this Online, in local newspapers, on Billboards outside John Lewis, and by running a website and Facebook competition via postcards left in city centre pubs promoting the world cup. We also distributed 13,000 world cup leaflets through doors with a further 1000 posted to existing customers.

Communicate Marketing helped our team to plan and coordinate this campaign and produced a very eye catching theme which ran through everything we produced in all media. The campaign was a great success with TV sales up 35% over May/June/July 2014. As a result our campaign has been nominated for an electrical industry award at the ERT awards ceremony coming up in Oct 2015.”
