World Cup Retail Marketing Campaign Wins ERT Award

World Cup Retail Marketing Campaign Wins ERT Award

We’re excited and proud to announce that our 2014 World Cup retail marketing campaign for Gerald Giles has been awarded Independent Marketing Campaign of the Year at the national ERT Awards – the biggest in the history of the event!

Almost 250 people attended this year’s sold-out lunchtime ceremony, which took place at the Grand Connaught Rooms in London’s Covent Garden on October 19.

Now in their eighth year, the ERT Awards are aimed at recognising excellence and outstanding achievements in the electrical retailing sector.

Many congratulations to our client Gerald Giles, who did the double, winning Consumer Electronics Retailer of the Year and Independent Marketing Campaign of the Year. They thoroughly deserve it and we really enjoy working with their great team.

Paul Giles, MD of Gerald Giles said, “The ‘Big Screen Trade Up’ World Cup promotion has one of our most successful marketing campaigns. It encouraged consumers to trade up their old TV for a bigger size, in exchange for a trade in of up to £200 depending on the model purchased. We promoted this online, in local newspapers, on Billboards outside John Lewis, by running a website and Facebook competition, distributed postcards to city centre pubs and world cup leaflets through doors and to existing customers.”

“Communicate Marketing helped our team to plan and coordinate this campaign and created a very eye catching theme which ran through everything we produced in all media. The campaign was a great success with TV sales up 35% over May/June/July 2014.”
